• Use the selection tool. Hold down the Option key while clicking once anywhere in the path to select.
• Note how all the points in the path are highlighted.
• You can now use the selection tool (after releasing the Option key) to cut, copy, delete, or move the entire path.
• This technique is useful with the scissors. First clip off a section of a path.

• Drag the section away with the Selection tool.*
• You can use the Shift key, too... option-click to select one path, then SHIFT-option-click to additionally select other paths.

This is a good technique to obtain a true semi-circle, rather than trying to create one freehand or by tracing. Draw a circle by shift-dragging with the circle tool. Ungroup the circle, use the scissors to clip whatever section of a circle you need, then option-click that section with the selection tool and drag it away. Delete the leftover circle pieces.
